A new space for art

Small rebuild near suzhou creek. Did a simple build out and will now house art labor's new space. A cool art gallery that has been bouncing around shanghai for about as long as our company has. Happy how it turned out. Pictures to come.

Market. Going to try and open a market in our new building. A place where one can come and get fresh fruits and vegetables, but also chill out and have a glass of wine and beer. A place where sandwiches are sold and also organics. A permanent market, that can give some stability to all of the pop up markets that come and go throughout our city. A place for small, food-centric start-ups can start out. We will have around 20 vendors and currently have a great kid leading the charge who will also have a coffee shop there (http://www.cambiocoffee.com/). If you have any interest in having a shop there, please contact us or him, looking to launch around Christmas 2015.

Took another building, have leased all of the office space out so far and am now working on the retail concept. Moved into Putou district, a bit of a move north for the company but am confident that the area is up and coming and will come into its own. As northern Jing An did for us.

Having stepped out of Shanghai for a while now, it is exciting to look back at the growth of Build over the years and too watch it continue to run. Sometimes in life, we have to let things go and the momentum that you have put into them over time allows them to spin on their own. Granted they wobble, and I continue to go back and forth regularly to make sure that our management and partnerships are all stable.

A good source for stories

A great site to get information of the everyday here in Shanghai. The link on the right is to a website that features many local stories and stories of going-ons in China. Although not real estate based, it gives a good glimpse of what is going on in this great city of ours. New restaurant openings, plenty of exposes and just fun China stories. Enjoy.

A great website that links to walks in Shanghai as well as points out many of the stories that go along with the property and real estate of Old Shanghai. Sue Anne Tay is the voice behind this website, and she has spent years documenting the ever evolving and disappearing of Shanghai's crumbling real estate.
